Kimpton Sawyer Hotel

Adjacent to the Sacramento Kings Arena and part of the Capital Green Redevelopment, the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel was a RCHS designed Hotel tower with HRA serving as the Executive Architect. Mike lead the Landscape Scope for RCHS, including ground floor entry, lobby planting, multiple amenity terraces including the signature Pool Deck.
Mike took the project over after 50% Schematic Design, at which time the Pool Deck was dominated by rectilinear planters of uniform height. He successfully redesigned the Pool Deck, to create more character and interest while staying within the SD level cost estimates. Today, the Pool Deck serves as the signature amenity space for the Sawyer Hotel.
